      Explicit

"Sex an Candy" is the first single released by Marcy Playground from their self titled debut album Marcy Playground. It was released in 1997. The song was written by John Wozniak, produced by Jim Sabella & Kenny Gioia, and engineered by Kenny Gioia & Bill Seasack. "Sex and Candy" was a large hit in 1998, spending a then-record fifteen weeks at number one on the U.S. Modern Rock Tracks chart (the record was previously held by Oasis for their 1995 hit "Wonderwall"). It was also the band's only major pop hit, reaching number eight on the Billboard Hot 100.
