Gazooks Inc. is a mall clothing retailer based in Carrollton, Texas. It was founded in 1983 as a T-shirt business owned by two Texas businessmen. After achieving success, Gadzooks expanded its product line to sell a broader assortment of clothing to teenagers. The company logo included the Volkswagen Beetle and all stores had a life size version inside. In 2003, it dropped its shrinking male clothing line to only concentrate on girl's clothing. Eventually, Gadzooks filed for bankruptcy twice and sold its stores and assets to Forever 21. The Gadzooks brand continues to operate, but under the name Gadzooks21 to follow the Forever21 and ForeverXXI nameplates. Gadzooks21 went from operating 243 stores in 40 states to 150 stores in 36 states and stores with poor sales closed.
