Doggystyle is the 1993 ebut album by West Coast hip hop artist Snoop Dogg, released by independent record label Death Row. It was recorded soon after the release of Dr. Dre's debut solo album, The Chronic. Snoop Dogg featured prominently on Dr. Dre's album, and some of its musical stylizations were repeated on Doggystyle. While recording the album, Snoop Dogg was arrested in connection with Phillip Woldermarian's death; he was acquitted in 1996.
